“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.  If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”            John 14:12-15 (NASB)

What an amazing promise!  GREATER WORKS!

When a person enters into a relationship with Jesus Christ (“believes in Me”), that person is making a commitment to follow Jesus.  That means that His agenda now becomes your agenda.

And what is that agenda?  Matthew 4:19 says those who follow Him will be made “fishers of men.” Your agenda, as a follower of Jesus Christ is to live a life that connects people to God.

That’s what Jesus did.  He spent three and a half years in a public ministry proclaiming and demonstrating that He was the Messiah/Son of God they had been expecting.  His ultimate purpose while here on earth was to die on a cross as an acceptable and perfect sacrifice for man’s sin.  His death and following resurrection would be that which opened the door for people to reconnect with God.  One would simply need to, as Jesus put it, “believe in Me.”

Many people followed Jesus during these three and a half years but nothing compared to the numbers of people who have since followed Him.  How is that possible?  Followers of Jesus have been fishing for men. And people, by the billions, have responded to the Gospel when they heard it from a “fisher of men.”

You know what that means?  GREATER WORKS!

Have you been fishing for men?  Are you experiencing the GREATER WORKS? Don’t put it off any longer…followers of Jesus are to become “fishers of men.”  Fishing for men will result in GREATER WORKS.
